Who isnt looking for a place to take a quick trip? Caroline’s favorite place to visit for a quick weekend getaway is Highlands and Cashiers, North Carolina! Highlands and Cashiers are beautiful mountain towns. This area is known for its food, hiking, shopping, and golf! Fun for every personality!
If you take a trip to Cashiers, here are some of the places we recommend stopping by!
Eat:
It is so nice to eat fresh foods, and the Cashiers Farmers Market is the place for that! Stock up on delicious, fresh grown fruits and vegetables for a home cooked meal!
Our favorite place to go out for a cocktail is the Ugly Dog Pub! With locations in both Highlands and Cashiers, this is the spot to hit if you’re in the area! Ugly Dog is also a great casual dining stop. Fun for adults and kids alike!
If you like seasonal, American food, take a trip to The Orchard for dinner! So many great, everchanging options for dinner and an extensive wine list to make for the perfect night!
Some other favorite include: Cornucopia, Winslow's Hideaway, and The Cork and Barrel Lounge
Hike
Whether or not you like to hike, we still recommend taking a hike in Panthertown! It’s an easy hike for all levels… because trust us, we are no experts.
Shop:
Shopping is the thing to do in the towns of Highlands and Cashiers! We love swinging through Vivace in Highlands to see what’s new there!
Wit’s End has been a landmark in historic Highlands, NC since 1940. This women's boutique remains a popular destination in the Highlands-Cashiers area.
There are so many great home stores in the Highlands/Cashiers area, but one of our absolute favorites is the Francey Hargrove store! Her boutique has been open for 20 years (!) and features her very own line of pillows, lamps, decorative accessories, jewelry, clothes, and upholstery!
Stay:
There are so many great places to stay in these mountains. There’s always the option to rent an AirBnB! This is a great choice if you like to cook while on vacation, like us! But, two of our favorite places to recommend for a say in the area are the Greystone Inn (Lake Toxaway) and Old Edwards Inn (Highlands)! We *highly* recommend having a meal, or at least a drink, at these dreamy inns if you’re not staying there. It’s a beautiful sight to see!
What To Wear:
You of course need a few new cute items to take on your trip! Whether you go with a girls group or with your family, everyone in Highlands and Cashiers is dressed to the nines!
