Now that the holiday season is here, kick it off with your family's favorite Christmas movie. Better yet, make it a marathon! Make Christmas Crack, cuddle under only the coziest of blankets and play the Christmas movie classics. Throw a White Elephant Party

Having a White Elephant party with your girlfriends is such a fun party game for everyone. If you don’t know what a White Elephant party is or how the game works, we’re here to help. The game is best played in a larger group of about 10 or more people, but you can make it work with 5-10, as well. 

Each player brings one unlabeled, wrapped gift to contribute to a common pool. The gift exchange organizer should provide information on what type of gift people should bring. You can do this in categories, like wine, candles, or ornaments, or you can set a spending limit, for example, $30. 

Next, have each player draw a number. Players then begin to pick gifts from the pile in numerical order. But here’s where it gets fun. The following players can choose to either pick an unwrapped gift from the pool or steal a previous player’s gift. Anyone who gets their gift stolen in this way can do the same – choose a new gift or steal from someone else. Once a gift is stolen three times, it’s frozen and cannot be stolen again. 

After each player has had a turn, the first player gets a chance to swap the gift he or she is holding for any other opened gift. 

This is such a fun game that keeps the whole crowd involved! You have to pay attention to what’s been opened and stolen, but you still can socialize, as there isn’t too much strategy involved.

Christmas lights have become quite extravagant in the last few years. It’s always so much fun to drive around, whether with your family or friends and look at the amazing displays your community puts on. Make a game out of it - have everyone rank their favorite location, and at the end compare what each person liked about the displays!
